马特·范·胡斯 is a sociocultural and linguistic anthropologist whose research interests reside at the intersection of language, popular culture, and issues of social difference 和权力. He has also taught extensively on the application of qualitative research methods to a variety of domains in social life, with a recent focus on the ethnography 的工作. Much of 马特’s scholarship has focused on popular music in Uruguay, where he first began conducting research as a Fulbright Scholar in 2000. 目前，他是 pursuing a project on dialectal variation and language ideology among Spanish speakers 在美国.S. 东南.
